The burning zeal for God’s glory that motivates you fills my heart with joy.

Auschwitz, July 1941. A prisoner escapes, and the guards choose ten men to die of starvation in reprisal. One of them, Franciszek Gajowniczek, cries out for his wife and children.

We are reminded that Jesus was not referring to a superficial love expressed merely in words. Rather, He was speaking of a love that gives, sacrifices, serves, and places others before self.
