St. Colette, originally named Nicolette, was born on January 13th to DeBoilet, a carpenter from Corby Abbey in Picardy, France. She became an orphan at seventeen and chose to give her inheritance to the needy.

St. John Joseph of the Cross exemplified virtue from a young age and entered the Franciscan Order in his mid-teens. Just three years after making his commitment, he founded a monastery in Piedmont, quickly becoming a source of inspiration.
