Sometimes, we end the day wondering why certain prayers have not been answered.

We prayed.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;

Casting down imaginations,

Heavenly Father, as I begin this new day, I come before You in humble prayer, guided by the parable of the Workers in the Vineyard narrated by Jesus, Your Son.

Opening

A PRAYER FOR THE FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION

Most holy Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, today the whole Church looks up and sees you crowned in glory.

The grave could not hold you.

Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

Paul reminds us that the Christian life is not governed by retaliation.
